In this coffee chat hosted by the CHOICES Community of Practice, guest speakers from the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) and the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) – Erin Bayer, Senior Director, Chronic Disease Prevention & Health Improvement at ASTHO and Stephanie Weiss, Director, Chronic Disease at NACCHO – shared key findings from the second year of their ongoing project funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Improving Social Determinants of Health – Getting Further Faster, which was focused on understanding the role of public health in supporting social determinants of health work. Getting Further Faster focuses on assessing the work of multi-sector partnerships and coalitions to address social determinants of health and advance health equity.
