A new study shows that the COVID-19 pandemic has worsened the risk factors for the development and progression of childhood obesity.


An international team of researchers has found that the swift and necessary public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic has had detrimental consequences for the prevention and management of childhood obesity. As societies build back from the pandemic, they recommend a focus on reducing childhood obesity risk factors through equitable, evidence-based, and government led action.
