Brief: Water Dispensers in Massachusetts Schools

Through the CHOICES Learning Collaborative Partnership, the CHOICES Project Team worked with key partners to model the potential implementation of a strategy that involves the installation of touchless chilled water dispensers on or near school cafeteria lunch lines in K-8 public schools with adequate plumbing in Massachusetts. This strategy could reach 265,000 students (including 129,000 Black and Hispanic/Latinx) with improved access to safe drinking water in schools over 10 years and would only cost $9 per student per year to implement.
