Brief: Movement Breaks in the Classroom in Boston, MA

Through the CHOICES Learning Collaborative Partnership, partners at the Boston Public Health Commission worked with the CHOICES Project Team to model the potential implementation of a strategy incorporates five-to-10-minute classroom physical activity breaks during class time in kindergarten to fifth grade classrooms in Boston, MA. This strategy could reach 29,400 children over 10 years, would result in 25 additional minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity per student per school week, and would only cost $1.74 per child to implement.
