Policies and programs in the US public school environment have a significant effect on their students’ nutrition and physical activity. The school-related policies and programs analyzed by the Childhood Obesity Intervention Cost-Effectiveness Study (CHOICES) include those that affect the foods and beverages that are served or sold to schoolchildren, as well as their opportunities for physical activity during classes and recess.
