As the Evidence Review Coordinator for CHOICES, Ms. Pipito assists in the coordination of the systematic review process ensuring team collaboration, consistency, integrity, and scientific rigor. She has an extensive knowledge of evidence review and childhood obesity prevention strategies having managed a Robert Wood Johnson funded grant in this area. Ms. Pipito applies her knowledge of gaps in the field to understand the relationships between researchers, policymakers, and practitioners. This involvement has led her to use systems thinking when working in the field.
Academically trained as a biological anthropologist, Ms. Pipito uses her knowledge of cultures, disparities and research design to assess the resources and limitations of the community to find practical solutions for aligning tailored obesity prevention strategies with implementation. Through past work, she has additional experiences in evaluating capacity building in community partnerships and conducting policy and environmental assessments in schools and urban areas.
